The Wes-Del Varsity Football team opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion Friday night at Paul Parker Field, defeating Tri-Central 74-0. The Warriors were dominant on both sides of the ball, rushing for 287 yards and seven touchdowns on just 24 carries. Zach Gillam led the way with 92 rushing yards and two touchdowns on four carries while also returning an interception 51 yards for a touchdown. Rhyker Mauck added 49 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Defensively, Wes-Del recorded three interceptions and recovered three fumbles while holding Tri-Central scoreless. Zach Gillam, Ryan Hyre, and Eli Wright each recorded an interception, while Easton Stewart added two sacks and a fumble recovery. The Warriors finished the night with nine touchdowns and improved to 1-0 on the season with the 74-0 victory.
