Wes-Del’s offense exploded for 72 points Friday night as the Warriors picked up a 72-36 road victory over Blackford. The Warriors piled up 524 yards of total offense, including an impressive 493 yards on the ground. Eli Wright led the rushing attack with 168 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries, while Rhyker Mauck added 123 yards on 16 carries. Zach Gillam rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns, Haiden Hassett added 59 yards and a score, and freshman Luke Fields contributed 35 yards and a touchdown. Noah Perdue found the end zone four times on the ground as Wes-Del finished with 10 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, Zach Gillam led Wes-Del with nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, while Eli Wright recorded eight tackles. Ranen Dubois and Luke Fields each added seven tackles, and Jack Fields recorded the Warriors’ lone sack. Jaxon Drumm and Arthur Aguilar each recovered a fumble as the Warriors earned an impressive road victory.
