The Wes-Del varsity football team picked up another impressive victory, defeating Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian 32-7. The Warriors produced 399 yards of total offense while a strong defensive effort limited the Braves to just seven points. Wes-Del did most of its damage on the ground, rushing for 273 yards. Rhyker Mauck led the rushing attack with 117 yards on 21 carries, while Haiden Hassett added 61 yards and a touchdown and Zach Gillam finished with 56 yards and a score. Noah Perdue completed 7-of-8 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, while Jaxon Drumm connected on his only attempt for a 45-yard touchdown. Ryan Hyre was on the receiving end of both scores, finishing with three catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns. The roster confirms the player names and positions used in the game statistics. The Warrior defense also had a big night, forcing turnovers and creating pressure throughout the game. Wes-Del intercepted three passes, with Hyre, Noah Perdue and Kolby New each recording an interception. New returned his interception for a touchdown. The Warriors also recorded four sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss, led by Jack Fields with two sacks and four tackles for loss. Wes-Del finished with five touchdowns in the 32-7 victory, getting contributions from all three phases of the game.
