The Wes-Del boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Marion Invitational on Saturday, September 5, at the Indiana Wesleyan University Cross Country Course. The Warrior boys turned in a strong team performance, finishing 7th overall in the Boys Gold Varsity Race with 161 points. Elijah Cook led Wes-Del, placing 14th overall in 18:09.4. Christopher Lopez followed in 21st at 18:27.1, with Jack Brunner right behind in 23rd at 18:31.3. Leo Davis finished 47th in 19:54.8, while Luke Humbert rounded out the Warriors' scoring five in 65th at 20:30.1. Also competing for the boys were Ranen DuBois (20:36.3), Justin Wise (21:33.3), Beckett Lamb (24:19.3), Micah Love (24:44.8), and Alexander Ross (26:16.9). On the girls side, Wes-Del had four runners compete and did not record a team score. Noelle Ernstberger led the Warriors with a time of 27:32.9, followed by Tori Ward at 29:49.1, Mary Wormer at 30:06.5, and Amber Dillard at 34:01.9. It was a solid day of competition for the Warriors against a large field at the Marion Invitational.
