The Wes-Del boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Delaware County Championship on Tuesday at Cowan High School. The Warrior boys put together a strong team performance, finishing 3rd overall with 79 points, behind Yorktown and Delta. Elijah Cook led Wes-Del, placing 16th overall in 18:17.4, followed closely by Christopher Lopez in 17th at 18:27.5 and Jack Brunner in 20th at 18:46.7. Leo Davis finished in 20:31.6, Ranen DuBois in 20:57.6, Justin Wise in 22:25.5, and Luke Humbert in 22:58.1. Micah Love (25:24.8) and Beckett Lamb (25:45.1) also competed for the Warriors. On the girls side, Wes-Del had four runners compete and did not record a team score. Noell Ernstberger led the Warriors with a 27th-place finish in 26:22.6. Tori Ward followed in 39th with a time of 30:00.1, while Mary Wormer finished in 31:35.2 and Amber Dillard crossed the line in 36:37.1. It was a solid showing for Wes-Del, highlighted by the boys' third-place team finish and several strong individual performances on both sides.
