Wes-Del battled throughout the night but fell in three sets, 12-25, 17-25, 26-28. After dropping the first two sets, the Warriors showed plenty of fight in the third, pushing their opponent to the finish before coming up just short, 28-26. Defensively, sophomore Layla Carmichael led the Warriors with 21 digs while also handling 41 serve-receive opportunities with just one error. Sophomore Gabby Rector added 12 digs. Both are defensive contributors on the Warriors’ varsity roster. At the service line, Carmichael recorded four aces and Rector added one. The Warriors will look to build on the fight they showed in the final set as they move forward in the season.
