The Wes-Del boys and girls cross country teams competed Saturday at the Jim Leffler Invitational, hosted by Yorktown at the Taylor University Cross Country Course in Upland. The boys turned in a strong team performance, placing fifth overall with 128 points in an 11-team field. Elijah Cook led the Warriors, finishing 15th overall in 17:50.37. Christopher Lopez followed closely in 20th place with a time of 18:03.03, while Jack Brunner finished 21st in 18:12.58. Leo Davis crossed the line in 34th at 19:04.63, and Ranen DuBois rounded out Wes-Del's scoring five in 56th with a time of 20:19.83. Also competing for the boys were Luke Humbert (20:54.58), Justin Wise (21:51.89), Beckett Lamb (23:25.87), Micah Love (23:42.34), Rylin Cox (23:56.15), Christian King (24:06.45), and Alexander Ross (28:31.02). On the girls side, Noelle Ernstberger led the Warriors with a 38th-place finish in 24:36.24. Tori Ward finished in 28:26.59, followed by Mary Wormer in 30:23.84 and Amber Dillard in 33:37.98.
