The Wes-Del boys and girls cross country teams competed in the IHSAA Sectional Championships on Saturday, October 17, at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. The Warriors turned in several strong individual performances, highlighted by the boys team earning a fifth-place finish to advance to regional competition and junior Noelle Ernstberger qualifying individually for the girls. The Wes-Del boys put together an outstanding team effort, finishing fifth out of 14 teams with 149 points to secure their spot in the next round of the IHSAA State Tournament. Sophomore Elijah Cook led the Warriors with a 17th-place finish, completing the 5,000-meter course in 17:12.30. Her effort earned her an individual qualifying spot in the upcoming IHSAA Regional Championships.
