The Wes-Del varsity boys' basketball team traveled to Alexandria-Monroe high school on Wednesday night to take on the Muncie Burris Owls in the IHSAA Sectional #40 quarterfinal action. The Warriors struggled to create much of a gap after the first quarter, only leading the Owls by 1 point, 12-11. Wes-Del turned up the pressure in the second and third quarters and got hot from outside, defeating Muncie Burris 28-7 in the second quarter and 16-2 in the third quarter. The Owls were never able to bounce back from the run by the Warriors. Wes-Del defeated Muncie Burris with a final score of 66-29. The Warriors will be back in action in the sectional semi-final against the 2A #2 Wapahani Raiders in the second game of the evening.
