What a day for the WDMS XC teams! To begin, Rylie Paskiewicz placed first overall in the girls' race. This was a combined race with the big schools and little schools running together (415 girls total), and she led the pack the whole time! Her first place finish wasn't only a PR for her, but another school record for the 3K distance. She ran a 10:23! But her teammates wanted in on the action, too. Elsie Swift, Ady McCutchen, and Jaci Long also set new PRs, and AmRee Nielson missed her best time by just a few seconds. Nice work, Lady Warriors! The boys' race was exciting, too. Eli Cook crossed the line first for the Warriors. In the combined race, he placed 7th overall (out of over 500 runners), and he placed first for the small school division! He also set a PR and a new middle school record for the boys' 3K distance with a time of 10:19. Six of his teammates decieded to set new PRs as well. Carson "McChicken" McCutchen, Jeremiah "PB&J" Schmidt, Zac (with no K) Fields, Ethan Jackson, Allen Nielson, and Noah Fields all set new PRs. With only two meets left, you're running out of time to come and watch these kids run! They will run in the County meet on Wednesday at Selma. Some of our Warriors will be traveling to the middle school state meet in Terre Haute on Saturday, and the rest will be representing WDMS in the MEC meet at Monroe Central.
